Per Strömberg serves as Senior Advisor to Lincoln’s Valuations and Opinions Group, bringing deep academic and practical expertise to support the team’s global platform.
Per is the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) Centennial Professor of Finance and Private Equity and Adjunct Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Per is a research affiliate of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a research fellow of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. In addition, he is a member of the prize committee for the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
Throughout his highly awarded and impactful career, Per’s research has focused on bankruptcy and private equity finance. At SSE, he teaches the popular MSc-course in “Private Equity.” Per also teaches “Cases in Financial Strategy” for the University of Chicago Booth international executive MBA programs.
Per’s research has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Brattle Group Prize (2001, 2009 and 2014), the NASDAQ award for best paper on capital formation at the Western Finance Association meetings (2004), SSE’s Researcher of the Year award (2006), the Journal of Financial Intermediation Stuart Greenbaum Prize (2007) and the ECGI Standard Life Annual Finance Prize (2013). In 2011, he received the Assar Lindbeck Medal, awarded biennially to an economist active in Sweden under the age of 45.
In addition to his academic appointments, Per is a board member at AP4 and NASDAQ Clearing AB and is a former board member of Conversus Capital LP, AP6 and Evisens Securities AB. Earlier in his career, he was the first director of the Swedish House of Finance (SHOF), a Swedish national center for financial research.
Per received his Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and holds an MBA (Civilekonom) from the SSE.
