Lincoln International in the Nordics

The Nordic office, with its origins as a regional M&A boutique based in Stockholm, became part of the Lincoln-family in 2018. The Nordic team has a long history of providing advisory services of international standard to regional and foreign clients, with relations and references across all the countries in the region – Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Since Lincoln’s founding in 1996, the firm has grown from four professionals in Chicago to more than 850 around the world. Our strength comes from our ability to create connections with clients, colleagues and investors, and to use perspective to develop strategic and successful solutions to the unique opportunities and challenges our clients face.

Our founders remain as committed as they were on day one, nurturing the culture, guiding the strategy, investing in key client relationships and engaging and developing talent. This is complemented by a deep team of leaders deploying their expertise around the dynamics driving change in mid-market investment banking within our core industries and product groups.

The ethos that underpinned the early days persist at Lincoln today and are globally shared: an intense commitment to excellence, an entrepreneurial spirit empowered by global infrastructure, teaming and collaboration that generates unique perspective for clients, integration across borders and groups, and high standards for integrity – in our work and in our internal and external relationships.

Our professionals live these values and deliver strategic advisory and thoughtful execution throughout the Nordic region. Local execution expertise, coupled with international influence and industry knowledge, provide Lincoln International with the tools to deliver superior results on every assignment.

Lincoln International in the Nordics

Sweden

The business environment benefits from open markets in most sectors and a positive attitude to foreign investment. While large exports of machinery equipment highlight the importance of the Industrial sector to the economy, Business Services and the Technology sector are two other areas continuing to spur economic growth through large M&A activity.

Denmark

The business environment is supported by a friendly policy towards private enterprises and competition, low bureaucracy and a well-developed digital sector. Although green technology and the digital sector are focus areas with the country’s climate goals, industrial services and the communications sectors are two other industries of high investment focus in the economy.

Finland

With improvements in the country’s macroeconomic environment and openness to foreign trade, the business environment is increasingly favorable for investors. The forest industry with its large exports of raw materials is a core part of the economy, but other sectors attracting capital are technology services, consumer durables and utilities.

Norway

The country’s large oil wealth insulates the economy from global shocks. While Industrials investments remain a hot area of focus, other areas that are top of mind to support growth in Norway are technology, healthcare and oil & gas.
