Bridgepoint Development Capital has acquired Ports Group from Priveq
Ports Group is a leading technology-enabled services provider of intellectual property and domain protection solutions, dedicated to helping clients manage and safeguard their online brand assets. Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, Ports Group is regarded as a technology frontrunner in its sector with an in-house developed cloud platform and a comprehensive suite of bundled software and services solutions. As one of the first Internet Corporation for Assigned Named and Numbers (ICANN)-accredited domain registrars in the Nordics, the company has firmly established itself as an industry pioneer.
Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Bridgepoint Development Capital in acquiring Ports Group from Priveq. Leveraging its deep knowledge and experience in the intellectual property and domain protection sector, Lincoln offered valuable market insights, valuation analysis and an assessment of future exit strategies. In a contested process, this expertise played a key role in securing a successful outcome for the Bridgepoint team.
John Hamilton, Managing Director in Lincoln’s Stockholm office, commented, “The demand for intellectual property and domain protection businesses remains robust among private equity firms and strategic consolidators. This is due to the attractive financial attributes of businesses in the space, supported by structural trends around the growing need for online brand asset protection, business automation and the rise of e-commerce. Given this, we are delighted to have supported the Bridgepoint team in acquiring the Nordic leader in the space.”
Chris Brooks, Managing Director and co-head of Lincoln’s European Technology, Media & Telecom Group, added, “We are very pleased to have supported Bridgepoint in its successful acquisition of Ports Group, a distinctive asset in the intellectual property and domain protection sector, renowned for its top-tier solutions and service offerings.
