Following a more than 30-year career in risk and asset management with leading New York City financial institutions, John is currently an independent consultant focused on finance and business strategy. As Senior Advisor to Lincoln’s Valuations and Opinions Group (VOG), John concentrates on strategic direction and best practices, and is an active member of the Technical Review Committee, which is the final step in the review process for VOG’s independent valuations of assets for credit funds, business development companies and private equity investors.
Before becoming a senior advisor to Lincoln, John led corporate loan asset management at Fortress Investment Group, LLC. John and his team were responsible for the management of several billion dollars of diversified debt and equity investments, both sponsor-owned and entrepreneur-owned, in private mid-market companies. He was instrumental in developing initial policies and procedures for valuing Level III assets within Fortress. Prior, John was with CIT Group, Inc. (CIT) where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for several lines of business, including asset-based lending, sponsor-owned private equity financing and CIT’s Toronto and London offices. He sat on the Board of CIT Business Credit Canada, a joint venture company with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, acting as Chairman in alternating years. John also served in asset management tenures with Fleet Capital Corporation and Barclays Capital Corporation.
John earned a Master of Business Administration from Boston University School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Tufts University.
