What Data is Collected from Cookies and How is it Used?

Below is information about what data is collected when cookies are used on this website and information on specific services used based on your consent given in the cookie banner.

General Information

This website uses third-party analytic cookies (such as Google Analytics) in order to improve the quality and content of our website. Analytic cookies tell us how the website is being used, helping us continuously optimize our services. Usage data may be transmitted to and stored by the third-party cookie provider. We only transmit such data where we have the appropriate consents to do so (where such consent is required under your local law). The Marketing and Functional cookies are all used in connection with services provided to us by third parties.

We gather information commonly provided by web browsers and servers, including details such as the operating system, browser type, language preference, the location of the site visitor, and the date and time of each visit to our website. We may also gather Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, which may be considered Personal Data under the GDPR and other similar data privacy regimes, as such addresses can be used to individually identify a user.

Services provided to us by Google (Marketing cookies)

Based on your consent for the use of cookies and processing of personal data, we use the service Google Analytics. This service is provided to us by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, “Google”). Google Analytics enables us to compile statistics on website usage and traffic sources. Google will use this information to evaluate the use of our website and to compile reports on activity on our website. In doing so, pseudonymous user profiles based on IDs are created. We use Google Analytics for statistical purposes, e.g., to track how many users have clicked on a specific element or visited a specific subpage on our website. When Google Analytics is used, information on your browser and device used for accessing our website is collected. In case you are logged into an account you have with Google, the data collected while Google Analytics is used may be associated with your Google account. You may view your settings for personalized ads under the following URL: https://adssettings.google.com/anonymous?hl=en. Google’s privacy policy may be found under the following URL: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

In case you are accessing our website from the European Union or European Economic Area, your IP address will not be stored but only used to determine the user’s rough location (e.g. continent, country, region and city) and is deleted immediately thereafter. This part of the processing occurs on Google’s servers in the European Union. Any transfer of personal data from the European Union or European Economic Area to the United States is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission and Google’s certification under the Data Privacy Framework. For data transfers from Switzerland to the United States, the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies. For data transfers from the United Kingdom to the United States, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies.

The maximum retention period for user and event data linked to cookies, user identifiers, and advertising IDs is up to 13 months and 4 days from the date you provide your consent. You may revoke your consent provided within the cookie banner by clicking on the “Privacy and Cookies Settings” button shown to you on the bottom of our website. Additionally, you may use a browser plugin provided by Google under the following URL: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Services provided to us by LinkedIn (Marketing cookies)

Based on your consent for the use of cookies and processing of personal data, we use conversion tracking on our websites via the LinkedIn Insight Tag. This service is provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (Wilton Plaza, Gardner House 4,5,6, Dublin 2, Ireland, “LinkedIn”). We use the service provided by LinkedIn to measure the effectiveness of advertising placed by us on the “LinkedIn” platform. Using the Insight Tag, we embed a tag in various areas of our website that helps us understand how visitors use our website. We place advertisements on the platform operated by LinkedIn and use the tag embedded on our website to track that you have visited our website after clicking on an ad. Within our LinkedIn profile, we also receive an anonymized statistical analysis of ad usage. In addition, LinkedIn offers retargeting capabilities through the Insight Tag. We can use this data to display targeted ads.

When you click on an ad we have placed, LinkedIn is notified that you have visited our website, and your IP address is also collected. IP addresses are shortened by LinkedIn. In addition, so-called “events” (e.g., page views) are stored. Furthermore, the following data is collected when the LinkedIn Insight Tag is used: the URL visited, the referrer URL, device and browser characteristics (user agent), and timestamps. Please note that LinkedIn may be able to link the data to the respective user profile and use it for its own advertising purposes. Direct identifiers referring to profiles of members of the LinkedIn platform are removed by LinkedIn within seven days to pseudonymize the data. LinkedIn members can access their ad settings to control how their data may be used for ads, including data shared via the Insight Tag by visiting the following URL: https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/categories/ads.

When the LinkedIn Insight Tag is used, there are data transfers to the United States occurring. Any transfer of personal data from the European Union or European Economic Area to the United States is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission and LinkedIn Corporation’s certification under the Data Privacy Framework. For data transfers from Switzerland to the United States, the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies. For data transfers from the United Kingdom to the United States, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies. Under the following URL, LinkedIn provides more information on how it handles transfers of data to the United States: https://www.linkedin.com/help/lms/answer/a1343190.

LinkedIn’s privacy policy may be found under the following URL: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The pseudonymized data relating to LinkedIn members and user and event data linked to cookies is stored for 6 months. You may revoke your consent provided within the cookie banner by clicking on the “Privacy and Cookies Settings” button shown to you on the bottom of our website. Retargeting may be prevented by making use of the options provided under the following URL: https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/g/guest-retargeting-opt-out.

Based on your consent for the use of cookies and processing of personal data, we use website analytics and content personalization service Olytics. This service is provided to us by Omeda (1 N Dearborn St, Chicago, Illinois, 60602, United States, “Omeda”). Olytics allows us to track the behaviors and attributes of our website visitors and connect these behaviors with the data already stored on the same website visitor and use it for personalization.

This information is associated with a cookie stored in your browser called the oly_anon_id, The value populated within this cookie is your anonymous record Id. When you later on visit our website again and have not deleted the cookie used previously, Olytics associates your second visit and any further visits with information associated with the cookie oly_anon_id. When the oly_enc_id cookie is populated in the browser, the behaviors associated with the oly_anon_id also populated in the browser will merge into the known audience record. Via Olytics we analyze user behavior on our website and use this information for content personalization. The service uses tags to provide us with additional context information on the use of our website. Services provided to us by Propensity, Inc. (Marketing cookies)

Based on your consent, we use the website analytics tool provided by Propensity, Inc. (19 Hampton Road, Suite 6, Exeter, NH USA, “Propensity”). We use this tool to measure website visits over a defined timeframe and infer the company affiliation of such visitors. We receive reports that provide total visit counts and details on the likely associated company of such visitors, including company name, domain, page-visit volume, industry, and approximate employee count. We use Propensity’s services for tracking company-related information only and do not use it to de-anonymize any individual visitor beyond identifying their likely associated company.

We also use Propensity in connection with digital display ad campaigns that target selected companies in specific countries. To do so, we provide Propensity with target companies and the countries associated with each website visit. Propensity then provides information on the company URL, the number of clicks on a digital display ad and the last date of a click having been made.

Finally, we use Propensity for email campaigns. Propensity provides click‑through data on embedded links and identifies the company associated with each recipient who clicks.
