TriWest Capital Partners has sold PRT Growing Services to InstarAGF
Headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, PRT is the largest outsourced provider of critical growing services for container-grown forest seedlings in North America. The company is a pioneer in commercial scale containerized growing processes for over 200 forestry seedling species and is supported by a differentiated footprint of 21 growing and cold storage facilities across Canada and the United States. PRT serves as a critical link in the forest health and sustainability supply chain, helping customers achieve regulatory compliance and reforestation objectives. The company’s services are core to rehabilitating invaluable forest land, mitigating the impact of climate change and addressing rising environmental, social and governance (ESG) awareness.
Lincoln served as the exclusive financial advisor to PRT, working closely with its shareholders and management team to provide advisory services throughout the sale process, including marketing, due diligence and final negotiations. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ryan Giles, Senior Managing Director of TriWest, commented, “Lincoln did an excellent job of facilitating the sale process, leveraging their industry expertise to optimally position PRT given the uniqueness of its business model as a critical outsourced services provider and the growing importance of ESG initiatives on the demand for its services. Additionally, the Lincoln team engaged many different types of potential buyers, each of which brought their own angles to add value to the platform based on business model, end market and social impact expertise and experience. Ultimately, the process led to a great outcome for TriWest as well as the company’s management team, employees and stakeholders.”
Rob Miller, Chief Executive Officer of PRT, commented, “I want to thank the team at TriWest for their support and contribution to our success over the past two and half years and welcome our new partners at Instar as we continue to grow and realize our vision for PRT.”
