Petix has been sold to Petz
Founded in 2007, Petix is a market leader in dog pads and one of the most recognized brands in the Brazilian pet market. Petix provides best-in-class pet hygiene and care solutions in Brazil through its brand Super Secão with a 30% market share in the segment of dog pads. Petix also operates in the United States through its WizSmart brand, with an established presence in major retailers, such as Petco, PetSmart and Amazon. The company has an exclusive and eco-friendly technology that uses a blend of virgin and repurposed fluff to create an absorbent core with greater absorption performance.
Petix’s more than 100 employees will join Petz’s network, along with founders and owners, Rogerio Haddad and Luiz Fernando Lourenço, who will continue leading the business post integration. Acquiring Petix allows Petz to reach more than 8,000 pet shops through Petix’s distribution channel, explore synergies with the Zee.Pad brand (dog pad product line manufactured in China) by internalizing part of the production and use Petix’s factory capacity to manufacture premium products under the Zee.Dog brand (premium Brazilian pet care brand owned by Petz).
Luiz Recchia, Managing Director in Lincoln’s São Paulo office, commented, “This was an outstanding result for Petix and its shareholders, which will join the Petz family and be able to fully develop its potential, both in Brazil and abroad. We used our full knowledge and capabilities to achieve this result and are thrilled that it came to full fruition.”
Established in 2002, Petz (BVMF: PETZ3) is a publicly listed company recognized as the largest pet shop chain in Brazil. Through its 182 stores and 15 veterinary hospitals, Petz offers a wide range of pet products and services with an established presence in the main regions of Brazil.
