The Riverside Company has sold Brandmuscle to American Capital Equity
Lincoln International (“Lincoln”), a leading global mid-market investment bank, is pleased to announce that Brandmuscle, Inc. (“Brandmuscle” or the “Company”) has been acquired by American Capital Equity. Brandmuscle was a portfolio company of The Riverside Company (“Riverside”), a global private equity firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Chicago, and with offices in Cleveland, Austin and New Jersey, Brandmuscle is a localized marketing automation platform providing software and services to enable brands with distributed sales or marketing channels to easily create and execute brand-compliant, local marketing campaigns across all mediums and formats. Brandmuscle employs more than 650 professionals and serves more than 200 of the world’s leading brands. Riverside invested in Chicago-based Brandmuscle in 2011, which was then known as Centiv Services. During the hold period, Riverside completed and integrated the add-on acquisitions of TradeOne Marketing and Brandmuscle, adopting the new name. These add-ons brought new services, customers and capabilities that further strengthened the platform.
Lincoln acted as the lead financial advisor to Riverside, working closely with Brandmuscle’s senior management team throughout the sale process to provide advisory expertise and manage the marketing, due diligence and negotiation phases of the transaction.
