HELLA Group has sold its innovative LED outdoor and industrial lighting business to Wünsche Group
In the course of a portfolio optimization in the Special Applications segment, HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co. (“HELLA”), one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers for lighting and electronics, has sold its LED airport lighting and LED outdoor and industrial lighting (“Industries”) activities almost simultaneously to two different strategic acquirers.
HELLA’s leading pure-play LED airfield lighting activities have been acquired by the TKH Group, an internationally active technology company offering innovative telecom, building and industrial solutions. With this acquisition, the TKH Group wants to further add to and expand the airport technologies focus with innovative core technologies within its building solutions.
The owner-managed Wünsche Group has acquired HELLA’s Industries segment comprising innovative LED lighting solutions for outdoor, industrial and indoor lighting applications. The product portfolio is based on a highly modular approach featuring a unique plug-and-play design allowing easy installation, maintenance and replacement. Through the acquisition of the Industries activities, the Wünsche Group aims to broaden its offering in the areas of electronics/lighting and to further complement and expand its own portfolio under the LUNUX (formerly HELLUX) brand.
“We are delighted to have found with the Wünsche Group as well as the Dutch TKH Group two strategic investors that can comprehensively tap the potential present in both business areas,” said CEO Dr. Rolf Breidenbach.
