Haspa BGM has sold Schaltex Systems to Scanfil

Funds advised by Haspa BGM, the mid-cap private equity arm of Hamburger Sparkasse and management, have sold all of their shares in Schaltex Systems GmbH (“Shaltex”), a well-established Schenefeld, Germany-based high-mix, low-volume electronics manufacturing services company, to Scanfil EMS Oy, a subsidiary of Scanfil PLC (“Scanfil”), a Finland-based contract manufacturer and systems supplier for the telecommunications and electronics industries. With this acquisition, Scanfil enters the German market for EMS services and widens its customer base, in particular in the analytical instruments segment.

About Schaltex Systems

Schaltex is a specialized high-mix, low-volume electronics manufacturing services company. It has a tradition of mainly serving global blue-chip industrial corporates in the analytical instrumentation and life science industry as well as other industrial niche markets. The headquarters and only production facility are located in Schenefeld, near Hamburg. In 2013, Schaltex employed a total workforce of approximately 80 people and generated sales of Euro 21 million.

About Scanfil

Scanfil is a contract manufacturer and systems supplier for communication and professional electronics based in Sievi, Finland. Its services include sourcing and purchasing, planning of production processes and technologies, manufacture of prototype series, transfer to serial production, and the production of electronics and mechanical assemblies, product testing as well as comprehensive logistics management. Scanfil has production plants in Sievi, Finland, as well as abroad in Budapest, Hungary; Pärnu, Estonia; and Hangzhou and Suzhou, China. In 2013, Scanfil employed approximately 1,667 people and generated sales of almost Euro 200 million.
