Gsquare Capital has sold the Swedish primary care business of Unicare to Prima Vård

Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Unicare, backed by healthcare private equity investor G Square, is one of the largest private healthcare and care service providers in the Nordics. Unicare Sweden, the group’s Swedish subsidiary, operates 11 registered primary care clinics across 14 locations in southern and central Sweden with more than 100,000 listed patients as well as an occupational health business serving corporate customers. The clinics offer a broad range of services including general specialists, district nurse, diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), mental illness, childcare, maternity care and rehabilitation.

The Deal

Lincoln acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Unicare, working closely with the group and subsidiary level management teams and shareholders through a swift auction sale process. The transaction completed with a sale to Lideta Hälsovård, now Prima Care, a portfolio company of Nordstjernan, and solidifies the acquirer’s position as the third largest provider of primary care in Sweden.
