Grupo Tigre has sold Fabrimar to Romar Metais

Fabrimar

Founded in 1960, Fabrimar manufactures and sells kitchen and bathroom fixtures in Brazil, with a significant market share and a solid position as a top five player in the segment. The company has strong brand awareness in the metal faucet segment and offers over 430 stock keeping units across more than 20 states in the country to over 4,700 active clients. Fabrimar operates an industrial plant of 13,800 square meters in Rio de Janeiro, with an annual capacity of over 3.1 million products, and employs over 200 professionals.

The Deal

Grupo Tigre acquired 100% of the shares of Fabrimar in 2017. Tigre has decided to divest this business unit as part of its strategy of focusing on “inside the wall”. A competitive process led by Lincoln International resulted in Romar Metais being selected as the final buyer. Romar is a Brazilian family-owned business that specializes in sanitary metal products with a focus on cost-benefit solutions. The acquisition of Fabrimar by Romar represents a transformative milestone as it will result in a significant expansion of Romar’s size and customer reach. Lincoln acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Tigre in this transaction, supporting the seller in all aspects of the deal.

Our Perspective

Luiz Recchia, Lincoln International Managing Director who led the transaction, commented, “We are delighted to have once again provided our financial advisory services to Tigre in a transaction that showcases Lincoln’s expertise in managing time-sensitive processes with exceptional proficiency, while also adding another valuable accomplishment to our credentials in the building materials sector.”
