Deutsche Beteiligungs AG has sold BTV Multimedia Group to Netceed, a portfolio company of Cinven and Carlyle

BTV Multimedia Group

BTV Multimedia Group is a leading provider of passive and active equipment as well as services for broadband network deployment, maintenance and upgrades, primarily focused on the German-speaking region. Founded in 2018 as a merger of several established companies in the broadband market under the umbrella of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), the group now consists of nine individual companies. It supports network operators, installers, the housing industry and wholesalers throughout Europe in fiber optic and hybrid fiber-coaxial network rollout.

The Deal

DBAG sold BTV Multimedia to Netceed (formerly known as ETC Group), a portfolio company of Cinven and Carlyle. The focus of the sale process was to achieve an outlier valuation for BTV Multimedia, which was enabled through deep market understanding and a bespoke process design, leading to bilateral discussions with the ultimate buyer in parallel to full sale process preparations.

Our Perspective

Andreas Bienert, Managing Director in Lincoln International’s Industrials Group, commented, “We are very pleased with the highly successful result for our client DBAG and wish the management team and employees of BTV Multimedia continued success with their growth story as part of Netceed.”
