Compass Group Equity Partners has sold The Allied Group to Lab Logistics, a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital
The Allied Group
Founded in 1946, The Allied Group provides a comprehensive suite of services including design, print, assembly and fulfillment of over 2.5 million diagnostic kits annually as well as associated collateral for healthcare and life science companies. Specimen collection kits are used for RNA, DNA and genetic screening; hereditary disease detection; genome testing and other analyses. The Allied Group operates from an FDA-approved assembly facility with fulfillment centers able to serve North America and Europe with prompt response times, a full track and traceability through a customer portal. The Allied Group is headquartered in Cranston, Rhode Island and was a portfolio company of Compass Group Equity Partners.
During Compass Group’s ownership, The Allied Group realized significant growth, especially in the diagnostic kitting end market. Given the significant overlap in capabilities, culture and vision, Lincoln connected The Allied Group and Lab Logistics to explore a potential mutually beneficial transaction.
Tony Crisman, Managing Director in Lincoln’s Healthcare Group, commented, “It was a privilege to work with the Compass and Allied teams in identifying the right partner for continued growth. There is a strong cultural alignment between Lab Logistics and Allied, centered around customer service excellence, which will ensure continued success as the best-in-class specimen management solutions provider.”

Lincoln has been a value-add partner and advisor to Compass for years. It started back in 2019 during our due diligence process when we first acquired Allied. Since that time, we have relied on Lincoln to keep us abreast of the trends and drivers within the healthcare and life science industries. When the time was right for Allied to turn the page, Lincoln brought numerous options to the table, allowing both Compass and management to pick the right partner for Allied’s next chapter.
