Verium, founders and management have sold Quickmail and Quickpac’s operations to Planzer

Quickmail and Quickpac

Quickmail and Quickpac employ around 3,500 people and are true pioneers in Swiss addressed mailing and parcel delivery markets. Quickmail is the first private company in Switzerland to deliver addressed letters, mailings, catalogues and magazines above the 50g monopoly limit since the partial liberalization of the mail market in 2009. In June 2019, the product offering was expanded to include parcel delivery with the launch of Quickpac. Quickpac is the first parcel delivery company in Europe to rely exclusively on electric vehicles. Quickpac’s highly digitalized system is geared to the needs of customers and offers same-day and evening delivery at an affordable price. This is, among other things, made possible by a sophisticated, patented sorting system.

The Deal

Following a comprehensive process involving both strategic and financial investors, the shareholders of Quickmail and Quickpac have found a strategic partner in Planzer to sustain services for customers, leverage synergies including logistics capacities and offer perspectives for the employees.

Our Perspective

Øyvind Bjordal, Lincoln International Managing Director who led the transaction, commented, “We are very pleased to have supported Verium, the founders and the management of Quickmail and Quickpac in finding a partner in Planzer which can secure continuity for customers and employees.”

Today, the logistics company employs around 5,900 people and is present at 69 locations in Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Germany, France and Hong Kong. The company places particular emphasis on sustainability.
