CertaSite is a provider of fire and life safety services headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, offering inspections, repairs, modifications and upgrades and installations across eight states in the Midwest. With a strong presence across key fire protection products and end markets, CertaSite leverages its inspection-first strategy to cross-sell and deliver services across the full fire and life safety equipment lifecycle. The company goes beyond compliance by focusing on partnership and professionalism, providing customers with a simplified, dependable solution for managing all fire protection and life safety systems in commercial buildings.
The Deal
The Riverside Company partnered with Jeff Wyatt to found the CertaSite platform in 2018. During their partnership, CertaSite acquired and integrated 27 strategic and accretive add-ons, growing from four offices in Northeast Ohio and Pennsylvania to 17 facilities across eight states. The company invested in technology, training and retention programs that drove significant headcount growth and increased technician productivity, ultimately translating into superior service quality in the field. After achieving meaningful scale and market leadership across the Midwest, Riverside and CertaSite partnered with Lincoln International to identify the company’s next partner to accelerate growth. Lincoln’s strategic outreach, tactical process design—including early access to management—and deep knowledge of the fire and life safety buyer universe provided CertaSite with the resources needed to find a strategically aligned partner. Riverside and management ultimately selected APi Group, whose inspection-first business model and long-term goal of achieving a 60% inspection-driven business mix aligns closely with CertaSite.
