Lincoln International represents Choice Health in sale to an undisclosed strategic buyer
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Choice Health specializes generating leads and brokering policies in the Medicare Advantage marketplace covering over 24 million senior citizens in the U.S. The company acts as a high value-add service provider to Medicare Advantage managed care organizations by offering an end-to-end consumer acquisition solution that includes marketing, placement, compliance and retention. The company is also a key resource to Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, providing coverage options across all major carriers, assistance with placement and post-placement services to maximize usage of benefits. In addition to its Myrtle Beach headquarters, Choice Health operates a call center out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ryan Watts, Chief Executive Officer of Choice Health commented, “My team could not be more excited to work with our new partner to continue growing the business my father started nearly 20 years ago.”
“We are grateful to the company’s founders for selecting Lincoln International as its advisor based on our deep understanding of the Medicare Advantage marketplace and the tremendous underlying growth dynamics. Choice Health performed well throughout 2020, despite the challenging macro environment. This buyer is particularly well positioned to leverage the terrific business Ryan and his team have built and take it to the next level,” said Barry Freeman, Managing Director and Co-Head of Lincoln International’s Healthcare Group.
Pete Stack, Managing Director in Lincoln’s marketing services practice, added, “We are proud to have worked with the Choice Health team and look forward to seeing the company’s continued evolution under this partnership. The company has established a highly differentiated national brokerage platform serving one of the fastest growing segments of the insurance market.”
Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor for Choice Health, working closely with the company’s management team and shareholders throughout the sale process. This included providing advisory expertise and managing the marketing, negotiation and due diligence phases of the transaction. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The buyer is expected to announce the acquisition at a later date.
