ION Solar has received a strategic investment led by Greenbelt Capital Partners with Trilantic Energy Partners, Blackstone Credit and Energy Impact Partners
ION Solar is a top-ten United States provider of premium, turnkey engineering, procurement and construction of solar energy solutions. ION sells, designs and installs residential solar systems in eight states across the United States, primarily in the Southwest with a growing presence on the East Coast and the Pacific Northwest.
ION’s management team had successfully established an industry-leading provider of full-stack solar energy solutions and were looking for a committed partner to support the company’s future growth prospects. As a proven asset of scale with a differentiated sales model, ION commanded significant scarcity value. Lincoln worked closely with ION’s management team throughout the process, leveraging deep expertise in the solar services and installation sector to drive a successful outcome for all parties involved.
Chaim Lubin, Managing Director in both Lincoln’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure Group and Technology, Media & Telecom Group, commented,”It’s been a great pleasure to have represented ION on this transaction. We are excited for the entire ION team and look forward to following their continued growth. This transaction provides further evidence of growing investor interest in the North American solar industry, driven by strong industry tailwinds and an expanding commitment to renewable energy and environmental, social and governance (ESG) more broadly.”
Lincoln's depth of investor relationships and industry expertise in solar were key in finding the right partner for the continued success of ION. We are excited to see the next chapter of ION's story unfold in the coming months and years.
