Invision expands the shareholder base of Schneider Group with institutional and private investors led by Montana Capital Partners
Schneider Group, founded in 1865, is an internationally oriented medium-sized forwarding company. With more than 800 employees at more than 56 locations in Switzerland, Europe, the United States and Asia, and with the help of a worldwide network of partners, the logistics specialist plans and coordinates cross-border freight transport for its customers. In addition to road transport, sea and air freight, Schneider offers comprehensive services, particularly in the areas of customs clearance, logistical value-added services and special services.
Following a first expansion of the shareholder base in 2019, the continuation fund was launched with the same intention to continue Schneider’s highly successful strategy of organic and acquisitive growth. Montana Capital Partners acted as the lead investor with other existing and new institutional investors participating in the continuation fund. Besides Invision, the shareholder base of Schneider’s management team was further expanded as part of the transaction.
Øyvind Bjordal, Managing Director and head of Lincoln’s Switzerland office, commented, “We remain impressed by Schneider’s successful development and are delighted to have advised Invision and the management in this milestone transaction.”
Dirk Engelmann, Managing Director in Lincoln’s Business Services Group, added, “The company is an excellent example of value creation in the logistics and transportation sector, capitalizing on large markets through specialization, customer focus and international expansion in combination with synergetic mergers and acquisitions.”
Since its foundation in 1997, Invision has become one of the leading investment companies for succession solutions of medium-sized companies in Europe. During this time, Invision has invested more than CHF 1 billion of equity capital in more than 60 companies and achieved sustainable value growth. Invision is a dedicated and entrepreneurial partner to business owners, entrepreneurs and management teams with the goal of further developing companies together. For all its investments, Invision places strong emphasis on thoroughly understanding the company’s as well as the entrepreneurs’ specific needs, developing individual and tailor-made solutions.
With the valuable support and advice of Lincoln, we have found an ideal solution for Schneider to support the management team with regards to organic growth, the continued acquisition strategy as well as the digitalization and sustainability initiatives.
