H2 Equity Partners has sold Halex Group to Bencis
Lincoln International (“Lincoln”) is pleased to announce the successful sale of Halex Holding GmbH (“Halex Group”), the German industrial group and a portfolio company of H2 Equity Partners (“H2EP”), to Bencis Capital Partners (“Bencis”). The sale exemplifies Lincoln’s track record of selling niche market leaders and underpins Lincoln’s strong position in the Industrials sector.
Founded in Aldenhoven, Germany, in 1990, Halex Group comprises of two businesses, Härtha Hardening Industries (“Härtha”) and Halex Extrusion Dies (“Halex”), and operates 12 sites in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania.
Härtha is a metal hardening and heat treatment provider with a comprehensive portfolio of highly value-added services for mission critical steel components used in various end markets such as automotive, machine tooling, construction, aerospace and medicine. Halex engages in the development and manufacturing of complex steel dies for the aluminum extrusion industry. Both businesses serve a growing customer base diversified across geographies and end markets, placing them among the market leaders in their respective industries in Europe.
Halex Group had been acquired by H2EP in 2013. Together with a strong central management team led by Sven Killmer, Roberto Lucato and Timo Roeskes, the Company has achieved substantial growth over the last years including a fourfold increase in its profits, benefiting from a turnaround of the central support functions, strong organic growth and performance improvement of the individual sites supported by value-enhancing investments and add-on acquisitions.
Lincoln acted as exclusive financial advisor to the seller, working closely with both H2EP and the Halex Group management team. Lincoln led a tailored auction process including both international strategic investors as well as financial sponsors. The final purchase price reflects Halex Group’s unique strategic positioning in both businesses, as well as the successful growth story achieved over the last years.
