Guardian Industries has sold its automotive OEM glass business to Central Glass
Lincoln International (“Lincoln International”), a leading global middle market investment bank, announced today that Michigan-based Guardian Industries Corp. (“Guardian Industries”) has sold two of its subsidiaries: Guardian Automotive Products, Inc. (“GAPI”) and Guardian Automotive-E S.A. (“GA ESA”) (collectively, the “Company”) to Central Glass Co., Ltd. (“Central Glass”) of Japan. The transaction included three automotive OEM glass manufacturing sites in Auburn, Indiana; Ligonier, Indiana; and Grevenmacher, Luxembourg, together with the Company’s OEM headquarters in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Lincoln International acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Guardian Industries on this divestiture.
GAPI and GA ESA manufacture glass systems for the automotive OEM market in the U.S. and Europe. They offer a broad portfolio of high value-added products, including heads-up displays and infrared reflective windshields, and are recognized in the industry for technological expertise and advanced product design capabilities. The Company’s customer base includes major OEMs, such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Porsche and Toyota.
Lincoln International advised Guardian Industries in connection with the marketing, due diligence and negotiation phases of the transaction and worked closely with the management team throughout the sale process.
