DESMI has been sold to One Equity Partners
DESMI, which was founded in 1834 and has its headquarters in Nørresundby, Denmark, is a leading global manufacturer of pumps and pumping systems, environmental equipment and related products. The company supplies engine room pumps, pumps for exhaust gas cleaning systems and ballast water management systems for marine and offshore applications. It also provides environmental solutions for oil spill response, seaweed collection and cleaning waterways. DESMI has operations across 20 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America and Africa and employs nearly 1,000 people.
DESMI’s private shareholders decided to explore strategic options, including a potential sale, to support its growth strategy to enter new end-markets and further build upon the strength of the DESMI brand. One Equity Partners’ global presence and strong track record of investing and building market-leading industrial companies meant it was the ideal partner to support DESMI in its next stage of growth. Lincoln International co-advised on this transaction.
Julian Tunnicliffe, Managing Director in Lincoln’s Industrials Group, commented, “For more than two decades, the shareholders and management of DESMI successfully built a small domestic pump manufacturer into a large well-balanced global flow control business. With the support of OEP and their deep industrial sector expertise, the management of DESMI intend to accelerate growth through acquisitions, entering new product segments and further diversifying its end-markets.”
