Alder II AB divests SI and SMG to Alder Strategic Opportunity Fund I

Target Descriptions: SI designs, develops and delivers building automation solutions, along with related software and services. These products contribute to environmentally sustainable property management by offering customers a cost- and environmentally efficient solution.

SMG (f.k.a. Samon) is a leading supplier of gas detection products to the refrigeration industry, as well as systems for detecting explosive gas and automating garage ventilation controls. The company has extensive experience in providing cost-effective and safe gas detection systems across industrial, commercial and marine applications.

The Transaction: Alder II AB has completed the divestment of its portfolio companies SI and SMG to Alder Strategic Opportunity Fund I (ASOF I), marking the successful conclusion of Alder II’s ownership period in the two businesses.

ASOF I is backed by a group of experienced institutional investors, led by Pantheon, a leading global private markets investor. The investor group also includes LGT Capital Partners, Arcano and Adams Street.

The transaction marks a successful realization for Alder II and its investors, while providing SI and SMG with a stable and long-term ownership structure to support their next phase of development under ASOF I, a dedicated vehicle established to continue supporting the companies’ long-term strategies with Alder’s active ownership agenda.
