Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Fire & Life Safety America (FLSA) is a leading provider of mission-critical, non-discretionary fire and life safety services. The company’s service offering is composed of four primary categories: inspections and monitoring, repair service, renovation and retrofit and new installations. Through 17 district offices and a robust partner network, FLSA serves a diverse set of local and national customers in the retail, healthcare, multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, government and education industries across the United States.
The Deal
The acquisition of Fire & Life Safety America further establishes Summit Companies in the fire and life safety industry. Since its founding in 1997, FLSA has grown from a private fire safety company operating in the east coast to a leading inspection service, design and installation fire protection systems company operating on a national scale. After a four-year ownership from Blue Point Capital Partners (BPCP), FLSA sought a new partner to assist in expanding its service offering and national account relationships. With Summit Companies as the partner, management will continue to realize its vision for the company’s continued success. Lincoln’s extensive experience in the fire and life safety industry provided the client with invaluable advice and guidance through the process and ultimately, buyer selection. Lincoln acted as the exclusive investment banking advisor to FLSA, working closely with the BPCP and FLSA management team throughout the sale process to Summit Companies.
