Richard Olson joins the firm as a Managing Director in the Valuations & Opinions Group

Lincoln International is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Olson as a Managing Director in the firm’s Valuations & Opinions Group in the London office.

With nearly 20 years of alternative asset investment experience, Richard brings both transactional and industry expertise. Under Richard’s leadership, the firm’s Valuations & Opinions Group will continue to build on its success of being the leading provider of portfolio valuations and transaction opinions to private equity groups, public and private debt funds, and corporate clients both in the US, the UK and across Europe.

“We are pleased to welcome Richard to the firm and look forward to growing the practice in the UK and European markets in which he has deep roots,” stated Ron Kahn, Managing Director and Head of Lincoln’s Valuations & Opinions Group. “Along with Richard’s significant experience in alternative assets, his buy-side transaction expertise distinguishes him in the industry. In partnership with the six other Managing Directors in the Valuations & Opinions Group in the US, we are now expanding our offerings of both portfolio valuations and opinions services to clients globally.”

Richard stated, “I am delighted to join Lincoln during a time of growth in alternative assets. With more regulatory oversight and the requirements of global limited partners, there will be a continued increasing need for independent third-party valuations and opinions. Lincoln’s ability to utilize the market intelligence that the firm garners from its global M&A and debt advisory platforms is a critical differentiator for us in this rapidly developing market – a true benefit to our clients.”

Prior to joining Lincoln, Richard spent over a decade as a Managing Member at 88 Capital. Previously he was a Managing Director at Duff & Phelps where he led the EMEA secondary market advisory team. Richard also served as Managing Director and Head of Research at Origami Capital Partners where he headed the group’s European operations. Earlier, he worked with Anschutz Investments focused on private credit and special situations investment across Europe, and with Young & Associates, a telecommunications infrastructure specialist.
