Secure-IC has raised funding from Alliance Entreprendre, BNP Paribas Développement and GO Capital
Secure-IC
Deployed across hundreds of millions of chips in smartphones, laptops, cars, cloud servers and so on, Secure-IC is a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions for embedded systems and connected objects. Founded in 2010 as a spin-off from Télécom Paris, Secure-IC leverages more than 15 years of scientific research and more than 200 international patents to provide state-of-the-art protection technologies and services across the integrated circuit design process. Its end-to-end offering covers embedded cybersecurity elements and evaluations.
The Deal
Alliance Entreprendre, BNP Paribas Développement and GO Capital invested €20 million in Secure-IC in December 2021. After a ten-year journey of self-financed growth, this capital raise will enable the company to accelerate its international growth, support its ambitious recruitment plan and carry out acquisitions to realize its chip-to-cloud vision, securing connected devices throughout their lifecycle, from the design of the chip to being able to secure, monitor and update product fleets in real-time all the way to decommissioning.

BNP Paribas Développement, a BNP Paribas Group subsidiary founded in 1988, invests its own capital directly in promising SMEs and mid-capitalization companies. As a minority shareholder in these target companies, BNP Paribas Développement seeks to promote their growth and ensure their longer-term prosperity by facilitating ownership transfer. In 2016, BNP Paribas Développement set up the We Are Innovation (WAI) Venture Fund, which specializes in investing in innovation-oriented companies, from the provision of seed capital through all subsequent funding rounds, with the aim of supporting the growth of high-potential startups.

GO CAPITAL, an independent investment fund management company, is a major player in seed capital and venture capital in French provinces. Located mainly in the west of France, GO CAPITAL contributes to the financing of responsible innovation in each territory. With more than 130 investments to its credit, GO CAPITAL manages more than €250 million and mainly finances technology leaders in the digital, healthcare and energy transition sectors.

They did an excellent job of understanding our business and markets, our stakeholders and our needs and conveying the appropriate messages to the investor community. At the end of the day, they helped us raise €20 million from recognized institutional investors and materialize a major milestone in Secure-IC’s history.
