CF Global Trading has agreed to be sold to State Street

Founded in 2000, CF Global Trading is a leading provider of outsourced trading solutions catering to global asset managers, pension funds and hedge funds. CF Global trades multiple-asset classes across execution desks in Hong Kong, London and New York, and will have a Lisbon, Portugal desk by the expected close of the acquisition. CF Global has a demonstrable track record of helping asset managers extend global trading infrastructure, improve access to liquidity, streamline workflow and reduce trading and infrastructure costs. In addition to having a broad network of more than 300 brokers across more than 50 venues both dark and lit-enabling premium execution, CF Global helps clients throughout the trade cycle, from pre-trade with venue selection through to post-trade with settlement and regulatory reporting.

The Deal

CF Global’s growth potential exceeded their ability to scale at pace and in order to continue its growth trajectory, CF Global decided to explore a strategic partnership. In a tightly managed auction process which preserved confidentiality, State Street emerged as the preferred partner for CF Global. The combination of the two firms will allow State Street to offer a complete global trading solution as part of the firm’s State Street AlphaSM front-to back platform. The transaction will place State Street alongside the likes of Northern Trust and UBS, which both also boast strong outsourced trading units.
