Ardent Equity and VE Partners have sold Premium Sound Solutions to AAC Technologies

Premium Sound Solutions

With approximately 3,500 employees, Premium Sound Solutions (PSS) is a global leader in the development, production and commercialization of premium acoustic components and sound systems to automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and consumer audio brands. Headquartered in Dendermonde, Belgium, PSS produces approximately 110 million loudspeakers annually and has a unique global production footprint with production facilities across Asia, Europe and North America and an industry leading research and development (R&D) team in China and Europe. PSS has a particularly strong position in sound systems for the rapidly growing (plug-in hybrid) electric vehicles market.

The Deal

The transaction is a transformational deal in the global sound solutions market and represents one of the major corporate deals in Belgium in 2023. The transaction was shortlisted at the Belgian M&A awards as the “Best Large Cap Corporate Deal” of the year in Belgium.

Our Perspective

This more than €0.5 billion acquisition accelerates the diversification of AAC Technologies into the automotive industry and strengthens its acoustic capabilities and product portfolio. Under its new ownership, PSS will be even better positioned for future growth by broadening its customers’ solutions offering with AAC innovations, i.e. by adding embedded electronics and software solutions, and further strengthen its market position through AAC’s longstanding relationships with rapidly growing Chinese automotive OEMs.
