Abenex has acquired Zato SpA from LBO France with financing provided by a pool of banks
Zato SpA
Zato engineers, develops and distributes machines to recover, recycle and reuse ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its machines and systems represent a strategic link in the metal circularity chain by preparing metal scrap for further transformation in the recycling process. The company benefits from a global presence in over 50 countries.
The Deal
Abenex, a France-based pan-European private equity fund, B-Corp certified, has acquired a majority stake in Zato S.p.A. alongside the founder through a secondary buyout from LBO France. This investment aligns with Abenex’s focus on resources optimization, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the circular economy through high-performance, technology-driven recycling solutions.
Lincoln International supported Abenex in structuring the optimal financing package for the acquisition. The financing was provided by a pool of banks, including Banco BPM, Intesa Sanpaolo, Banca Monte dei Paschi, Deutsche Bank, Banca Sella and funds from Generali Asset Management.
