Dotemu has been sold to Focus Entertainment
Founded in 2007, Dotemu is a world-leading retrogaming studio and publisher that specializes in releasing modern versions of iconic vintage games. Available across platforms, Dotemu’s titles combine deep technical and engineering expertise with a genuine artistic sense for modernizing classics.
Dotemu’s undisputed reputation is based on a loyal community and a high-quality games portfolio (average Metacritic score of 82 since 2017, nomination at the Game Awards in 2020). The company sits at the heart of the retrogaming community and orchestrates an active ecosystem of partners, such as independent studios, creative talents, major intellectual property owners, porting companies, distribution platforms, etc. Since 2018, Dotemu has branched out into pure publishing, creating a complementary label called The Arcade Crew that supports and empowers indie studios working on games with a retro look and feel.
Joining forces with Dotemu, Focus Entertainment will help support the company’s strong ambition throughout its next development phase.
