Brigadier General Bob Edmonds Named Advisory Director of Lincoln International’s Aerospace and Defense M&A Practice

CHICAGO, August 18, 2008 — Lincoln International, a global mid-market investment bank, today announced that Brigadier General Bob Edmonds, USAF retired, has joined as an Advisory Director for the firm’s Aerospace and Defense practice. General Edmonds will help strengthen the firm’s knowledge and presence in the aerospace and defense arena by leveraging his background, contacts and experience in the industry. Edmonds will assist in developing and securing new business opportunities while providing strategic advice to transaction execution teams.

Known for his leadership, operational focus and knowledge of the nuances of working in Washington D.C., Edmonds brings four decades of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. He is currently a Principal with Heidrick & Struggles International, a leading executive search firm based in Washington D.C., where he is a senior member of the firm’s global Aerospace, Defense, and Aviation practice.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Edmonds served in command, policy, and staff positions in the United States Air Force as an F-15 Eagle pilot and led 42 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. Edmonds retired from the USAF after 28 years of service with the rank of Brigadier General. In the decisive period of congressional history following 9/11, Edmonds led the United States Air Force’s Senate Liaison office on Capitol Hill and handled U.S. Air Force congressional affairs with both the House and the Senate as the deputy director for Legislative Liaison. A White House Fellow in the mid-1990s, Edmonds also has high-level executive branch experience.

“Bob Edmonds has been an outstanding leader in the Air Force, and in the broader aerospace and defense community through his various senior roles in Washington, D.C., from the Pentagon, to Capitol Hill, to the White House” said Jim Lawson, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Lincoln International. “We are delighted to welcome him to the Lincoln International team, and we look forward to seeing our clients benefit from his knowledge and contacts in the industry.”

In addition to graduating near the top of his class as a civil engineering major from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Edmonds was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for graduate degree study at Columbia University, where he earned a master’s degree in civil engineering. Edmonds also graduated as a Distinguished Graduate from the National War College in Washington, D.C., where he earned a master’s degree in national security strategy.
