Active Care Group has sold Remeo to SOL Group
Remeo
Remeo is a specialist provider of inpatient ventilator weaning and respiratory rehabilitation care, operating from the Lane Fox Remeo Centre in Redhill, Surrey, England. Delivered in close collaboration with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, the service supports patients with complex respiratory needs as they step down from acute hospital care and progress toward discharge to home or community settings. The Lane Fox Remeo Centre was established in 2014 as the UK’s first purpose-built facility of its kind, combining specialist respiratory expertise, a dedicated clinical team and a rehabilitation-focused environment.
The Deal
Active Care Group has sold Remeo to SOL Group, a multinational operating in the technical, pure and medicinal gases sector and in-home care through its subsidiary Vivisol. The transaction brings together Remeo’s specialist inpatient respiratory weaning capability with SOL Group’s established respiratory home care platform and increases SOL’s presence in NHS-funded respiratory pathways in the UK. For Active Care Group, the divestment supports continued investment in its neurorehabilitation pathway, including the planned development of a new 70,000-square-foot, 52 bed specialist hospital in Stoke Mandeville, England, expected to open in summer 2027 and intended to expand the group’s private neurorehabilitation and spinal rehabilitation capacity. The facility is expected to incorporate neuro-robotic rehabilitation technologies, hydrotherapy, a cinema and specialist ventilated ward capacity.
Lincoln International acted as exclusive financial adviser to Active Care Group in connection with the transaction. Drawing on its healthcare services expertise and familiarity with NHS-contracted businesses, Lincoln supported Active Care Group in identifying a strategic partner positioned to support Remeo’s continued development.
Our Perspective
Matthew Lee, Managing Director and Co-Head of Lincoln International’s Healthcare Group in Europe, commented, “It has been a pleasure to advise Active Care Group on this divestment, helping the business unlock capital to invest further in its core areas and strategic priorities. We believe SOL Group is well-placed to support Remeo’s continued development, given its deep respiratory care expertise and established home care platform across Europe. The transaction also reinforces Lincoln’s experience advising specialist healthcare providers operating in NHS-contracted care pathways.”
