Role at Lincoln International:Sanjeev serves as a Senior Advisor to Lincoln International’s Automotive and Truck Group advising them on automotive deals globally. He also advises Lincoln’s Special Situations Group (SSG) in the US, providing advice to sponsors, shareholders, lenders, management teams, bondholders, creditors and court-approved representatives on financially-stressed and distressed companies.
Advisory Experience:Sanjeev has 34 years of Automotive Industry, Investment Banking and Consulting experience, including 20 years at Chrysler Corporation, New Venture Gear (DaimlerChrysler & GM Joint Venture) and Magna International. Most recently he was a Managing Director with the Investment Bank Teneo Capital, leading their Global Automotive practice. Previously he served on the Senior Advisory Board at Chanin Capital Partners / Duff & Phelps Securities, LLC. He has advised on numerous auto industry M&A and Restructuring Transactions including Hilite, Chassix, AEST, Clearedge, DEP, Axeon, McKechnie, Dura, Dana, Delphi, Visteon, Intermet, Neoplan, Hayz Lemmerz, and others. During the General Motors restructuring, he was industry advisor to VEBA shareholders.
He has provided analysis/evaluation of Engineering & Manufacturing Companies to Private Equity, Bond Holders and Hedge Funds. In his consulting work he advised Mercedes Benz Technology (Germany), MalibuIQ – Hughes Research Lab (California), Mahindra and others. He was also Senior Advisor to the German Government Agency IIC (later merged with ‘Invest-in-Germany’) helping bring companies in the U.S. and India to invest in Germany.
In his last position in the auto industry, he worked as Director of Marketing & Corporate Planning for Magna Powertrain, a subsidiary of Magna International, the 3rd largest auto parts supplier in the world. Before this, he worked at New Venture Gear (“NVG”), a $1.6B DaimlerChrysler & GM Joint Venture company, where he was involved in its merger with Magna Powertrain. At NVG, he served as the Director of Marketing, Strategic Planning and Asian Sales, where he managed all marketing, strategic planning, and business development activities in NAFTA, Asia and Europe.
During his career he has worked with several global automakers like Ford, GM, Chrysler, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Tata, Mahindra, SAIC, Chery and many Tier 1 auto parts suppliers. He has visited more than 300 Engineering Design and Manufacturing facilities worldwide. At NVG developed and launched powertrain products for General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and other automakers. For three years he was manager of Electric Vehicle programs at NVG. He was also the head of R&D of New Venture Gear. As an inventor, Sanjeev is listed on six patents, two of which were used in the BMW X5 and Jeep Grand Cherokee. A lightweight composite product concept that he invented during Graduate School was used by NASA in Space Shuttle flight STS-175. He started his professional working career with Chrysler Corporation in 1984.
