Lincoln International represents Tyco Electronics in the sale of its Pretema business to Possehl Group
Frankfurt, September 2010 – Lincoln International, a leading global mid-market investment bank, has announced its role as exclusive financial advisor to Tyco Electronics (the “Company”) on the sale of its Pretema business (“Pretema”) to the Possehl Group (“Possehl”).
Based in Niefern, Germany, Pretema manufactures electromechanical precision components (such as leadframes) for the automotive and electronics industries. Tyco Electronics chose to divest Pretema because it no longer fit with the Company’s long-term financial and strategic goals.
Within its Electronics division, Possehl is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of leadframes for the semiconductor industry. In addition, Possehl Electronics is an important manufacturer of smart cards and a supplier for manufacturers of plug-in connectors. Including the newly acquired Pretema business, Possehl will employ about 2,200 staff in its Electronics division.
This transaction marks the 13th completed this year by Lincoln International within the automotive sector, and the 3rd within electronics.
