Ferrostaal Automotive has been sold to Rhenus SE & Co.

Ferrostaal GmbH (“Ferrostaal”) has sold Ferrostaal Automotive GmbH (“FSA”) to Rhenus SE & Co. KG (“Rhenus”).

FSA, headquartered in Essen, is a leading provider of supplier-neutral, value-added assembly and sequencing services for complex safety and performance critical modules in the automotive industry. The company is focused on tailor-made services for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers and recognized as one of the market leaders with a strong track record, broad service offering and excellent customer base. FSA employs approximately 1,500 employees and is present in 11 locations in Belgium, Germany, Poland and Spain.

Lincoln International (“Lincoln”) acted as exclusive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisor to the shareholders of FSA in this transaction. In a close collaboration between its industrial services / logistics and automotive sector teams, Lincoln organized a competitive M&A process. The global reach, as well as market knowledge, of Lincoln’s sector teams has been decisive in achieving an outstanding transaction result in the view of Ferrostaal with a synergetic and financially strong new owner.

Ferrostaal is a technology-independent, multi-vendor and supplier-independent provider of industrial services with around 2,700 employees and operations worldwide. As a project developer for industrial plants, the company operates in the areas of petrochemicals, wind energy, lighting solutions, oil and gas and other selected industries. Ferrostaal also takes on EPC packages or the function of a general contractor for the building or maintaining of new or existing industrial facilities. In addition to this, the company offers financing solutions and technical consultancy services.

Rhenus is a global logistics service company with a turnover of Euro 4.6 billion. The company has business locations at more than 500 locations worldwide and employs 26,000 people. With the acquisition of FSA, Rhenus strengthens its automotive business through the addition of further customers and geographical locations and enlarges its service portfolio by high value-added service capabilities.
