Lincoln International advised Cerberus in the sale of Handel und Kredit Bankhaus to Mouzon Capital
Frankfurt, January 18 2010 - Vanospad Holding B.V, an investment vehicle of Cerberus, sold its 100% equity stake in Handel und Kredit GmbH & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft, Bankhaus (HKB), Frankfurt am Main, to Mouzon Capital, Frankfurt am Main.
HKB holds a full German banking license according to Bafin requirements (§32 (1) of the banking act) and operates two branches in Altena and Hagen, which offer a full banking service to retail and small corporate clients.
Cerberus acquired HKB in 2004 and executed a successful restructuring of the bank. Subsequently HKB served as platform for the investment banking activities of Cerberus in Germany. After the acquisition of the Austrian BAWAG by Cerberus 2006 these HKB activities were transferred to BAWAG in 2008.
Lincoln International AG was mandated by Cerberus as exclusive advisor for this sell-side and executed a broad auction process, including a large number of investors with potential interest in a German banking license.
