The Analyst position at Lincoln International provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment. In addition to mastering the financial analysis and research skills typical for the position, an Analyst at Lincoln International learns about and becomes involved in a transaction from start to finish. The Analyst serves as the analytical anchor for the deal team and involves preparing, completing and ensuring the accuracy of all financial modeling and analysis. The Analyst is expected to interpret the results of his/her work, pose questions and draw conclusions.

Responsibilities at Lincoln International are less rigid and more entrepreneurial than at other firms. Key analyst responsibilities on transactions often include:

  • Preparing marketing materials for sell-side and buy-side advisory assignments
  • Identifying potential acquirers
  • Conducting industry and company-specific research
  • Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all presentation materials
  • Supporting the due diligence process
  • Interacting with clients on a regular basis
  • Attending client meetings
  • Supporting the marketing activities of the firm as they relate to an industry or engagement

Lincoln International's training program kicks off a comprehensive learning experience. Each July, new employees from our offices worldwide meet in Chicago for four weeks of training that prepares them for their daily responsibilities. Our program has tremendous success in getting employees on-boarded quickly and ready for live deal experiences from the day they exit training.

Topics during training include:

  • Well-rounded overview of Lincoln International industry and products
  • Sell-side deal execution training (from pitch to transaction close)
  • Financial modeling (LBO and DCF) training
  • Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) best practices
  • Series 79 and 63 regulatory training

After formal new-hire training is complete, the firm also supports its employee’s continuous growth through its Continuing Education program, which consists of regular meetings hosted internally and externally on a wide-variety of job-related topics.

  • Lincoln International's Mentorship Program - At Lincoln International, we believe that mentoring can be a key to an employee’s ultimate success. As such, after joining our firm, each employee is given a mentor that helps guide their professional development. The mentor program consists of having at least quarterly meetings to discuss your performance and long-term goals.
  • Performance reviews - Our analysts are reviewed formally each July and are eligible for a discretionary-based bonus based on their performance. The Summer Analyst Internship position at Lincoln International is extremely challenging, offers an excellent learning experience and provides a solid foundation upon which an individual can build a future business career. Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Successful Summer Analyst Interns are assertive and self-motivated, can manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and are detail oriented
  • Strong writing, verbal communication and computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Working towards a degree in finance and/or accounting, or have successfully completed significant coursework in these areas
  • Students between their junior and senior year of college
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 is required
